Trip
A trip will be organized to the neighboring volcanic Harghita Mountains and several other destinations in "Szekler (Székely) Land" famous for its cultural traditions and scenic landscape.
Short description of the trip:
- Our tour start early in the morning from Teleki Education Center. The tourist guide will wait for you with the two first class air conditioned busses.
- Our first stop will be the Salt Mine of Praid, the largest salt deposite of South East Europe in one block. We will make a visit inside the salt mines health spa resort used on large scales by those who wish to cure their respiratory problems.
- Secondly we stop at Korond, world famous for its genuine Szekely Hungarian handmade potteries. We will visit a handicraft family and its workshop to experience the process of the clay into a work of art.
- Third stop will be in Gyergyószárhegy at the former Castle of the Lázár Counts. Specially welcoming with local drinks and home made Szekler milk loaf is served, afterwards the museologist of the Castle will present this magnificent place.
- Around 2 pm we will head towards the town of Gyergyószentmiklós, a quick stop at the Armenian Catholic Church.
- Than we will visit the Gyilkos tó (Lacu Rosu), a lake formed through devolution of mountains.
- After this by-pass we had towards our main attraction to the village of Máréfalva where you will be awaited by Székely Hungarian Dancers and Musicians. Special gastronomy presentation will be organised in an open air place, late lunch will be served.
- After dinner we will take you back to your hotel, but we will stop for a short sight seeing tour in Székelyudvarhely.
Upon registration please indicate your intention to participate in this trip, in order for us to be able to make the necessary transportation arrangements in time. Please note that the program of the trip might be influenced according to weather conditions.
Music program
Capriccio quartet
The capriccio quartet, formed by four students from National University of Music, proposes to create a new kind of vision of the definition of classic quartets. They are playing a wide repertory starting from ambient music, divertisment music, tango to jazz music, café – concert or movie soundtracks.
The activity of the quartet grows for 3 years and in this time they sustained over 150 recitals at different events, cocktails, receptions, symposiums, weddings, conferences, exhibitions. The year 2007 brings them a collaboration with the fashion house "Sevy Design". The Capriccio Quartet defines elegance and good taste.
The quartet will raise the feeling of conference nights by music performance.
