How to reach Sovata?

Sovata does not have an international airport, or a train station. The closest international airport (50 km away) is in Tîrgu Mures (Marosvásárhely). This airport receives, however, only a few flights per day. There are irregular flights from Budapest (Hungary), Bucharest (Romania), Timisoara (Romania), Barcelona (Spain) and Roma (Italy). After our information on Sunday (15 July) there are no good connections at all to Tirgu Mures. We suggests thus to use the following options:

The two closest international airports with a reasonable timetable on Sunday 15 July, are:

• Otopeni-Bucharest (Henri Coanda) International Airport. This airport is 400 km away from Sovata… around 6-7 hours by car.
• Cluj-Napoca International Airport. This airport is 150 km away from Sovata…around 2-3 hours by car.

The organizers will provide a shuttle service from both airports as follows:

to Sovata

1. Bus from Bucharest-Otopeni (Henri Coanda) International Airport 15 July 2007 (leaves at 15.00, Bucharest time)
2. Bus from Cluj-Napoca Airport 15 July 2007 (departure from the central building of the Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj, Romania, str. Kogalniceanu nr. 1, at 16.00; and departure from the International Airport in Cluj at 17.00, Bucharest time)

from Sovata

1. Bus to Bucharest, 20 July 2007 (arrival to Bucharest International Airport at 13.00)
2. Bus to Cluj-Napoca, 20 July 2007 (arrival at the Cluj-Napoca International Airport at 12.00, arrival at the central building of the Babes-Bolyai University at 13.00)

Please note that apart of these two buses we will not be able to organize other subsidized shuttle services!

If you chose to reach Tirgu Mures by train, from the train station regular bus services are available between Tîrgu Mures (Marosvásárhely) - Sovata (Szováta) operated by a maxi-taxi firm:

• From Tîrgu Mures to Sovata
  every Monday to Friday at 5.15, 6.00, 6.50, 7.40, 8.50, 10.35, 11.35, 12.30, 15.35, 16.30, 17.05, 19.30, 20.30;
  every Saturday and Sunday at 6.00, 7.40, 8.50, 10.35, 11.35, 13.45, 15.30, 16.30, 18.00, 19.30.
• From Sovata to Tîrgu Mures
  every Monday to Friday at 6.30, 7.15, 8.05, 8.30, 9.30, 11.00, 12.30, 13.30, 15.00, 17.15, 18.30, 20.00, 21.15;
  every Saturday and Sunday at 7.15, 8.05, 9.30, 11.00, 12.30, 15.00, 17.15, 18.30, 20.00, 21.15.

Another option to reach Sovata would be to come by car or rent a car from the Airports you choose to arrive. It is also possible to spend an extra night in Bucharest or Cluj-Napoca. The conference organizers can provide you a list of hotel addresses, but you will have to book the hotel by yourself.

All accepted participants should inform the conference organizers as soon as possible about their planned arrival, and the way you are choosing to come to Sovata! It is especially important to reserve the places on the two planned shuttle services in due time (at least up to 20 June, 2007)!
